View a promise
A grantor or a recipient opens a promise with a view card. The card rides in the link after the #. This page never sends it.
Open with a view card
Paste a view card, not a claim. A full card reads the gift. A status card reads size and maturity only.
Promise
Opened in this browser for the grantor or the recipient.
The view card stays in this tab. promised.you does not store it and does not send it. The address bar no longer has it.
A full view card reads that gift’s history. A status card reads size and maturity only. Neither card can move funds or claim the gift.
The page would fetch the bucket this card shares with about a thousand other gifts, decode it here, and check the result against a signer-certified checkpoint. No checkpoint has been checked, so no amount, date, or party is shown.
Keep the view card safe.
It does not allow anyone to transfer funds or to claim the promise. Anyone who has the card can view the promise. A view card cannot be revoked. Losing it loses the view, never the gift.
The claim is a different card. Whoever holds the claim at maturity can spend, including a grantor who kept a copy.
A view card comes from the grantor’s wallet. This page does not issue one.
What stays visible
- Litecoin and Bitcoin gifts show their amount and date on their own chains.
- An invested gift’s cohort — mandate, holdings, fills, and unit value — is public. Who holds how many units is not. The figure is units times that public unit value.
- The pool’s total backing is public.
- An open promise is visible. A shared promise is read with the cards the grantor gives. A sealed promise sends no card out. Sealed is a courtesy, not a lock: nothing reveals the note at maturity unless a person hands over a card.
- This site can learn a bucket. It does not learn the gift, the amount, or an address. It does not ask for a viewing key.
- Someone who holds the phrase, or a view card the holder gave away, sees what that card covers.
